Q:
A: I'm sure that there are other wrestlers on the independents that are making a living from simply wrestling but I know there aren't many. It can most definitely be a struggle and may be too difficult for most to want to deal with. While I'm not sure what others do to support themselves; I am blessed with a handful of sponsors that have helped me tremendously over the years apart from a schedule of wrestling as frequently as possible. I also try to plan well and maintain my finances so that I am able to live comfortably with my income. Additionally, not having other work to worry about leaves me with the ability to focus all of my effort on marketing, scheduling appearances, training, and working with sponsors. In short, I don't really know how I do it. I just make it happen.
Q: What is your opinion on the Japanese and the American styles of wrestling?
A: I love them both. Every style of wrestling is so unique and different that there is something to love about each one. As I mentioned last week, a lot of the styles are based on the culture of the area. My main goal in my wrestling and with my training has been to hybridize all of the styles as best as I can so that it can reach every audience and please them in ways that they are used to; as I relate to their culture, and also introduce them to other styles and cultures without coming off as completely foreign.
Q: What are you plans once you return home from Japan?
A: Cool question. I'm only home for four full days so I have a lot of things that I need and would like to do and certainly not a lot of time to do it. Upon arriving (Wednesday) I will immediately be training that night in San Diego, CA. The next day I will be training again in Tijuana, MX and getting myself packed for The United Kingdom and my events for the upcoming weekend. Friday, I wrestle in Covina, CA. Saturday, I have a meet and greet event in the desert area near Calexico, CA before wrestling that night in MexiCali, MX. That Sunday I have an event in Nogales, MX and I depart Monday afternoon to London, UK. I also have merchandise and wrestling gear to pick up as well as trying to spend time with family and friends.

As many of you know, I am completing my tour of Japan and training with Dragon Gate as I head home this week. It has been a wonderful and life-changing experience. I greatly enjoyed my time training and living here in Kobe. Above and below are the final set of photos of the atmosphere and culture here in Japan!
